FOUR TOP ORACLE APEX EXPERTS JOIN FORCES

January 27th, 2010 - The founders and principals of European based APEX Evangelists (AE) and US based Sumner Technologies (Sumner) have joined forces to form SUMNEVA, a partnership that is focused on providing the highest quality Oracle® Application Express (APEX) education, consulting & solutions available.

Doug Gault, Dimitri Gielis, John Scott and Scott Spendolini - all recognized Oracle APEX experts - make up the partnership. The four individuals come from various backgrounds, and have a total of more than 60 years experience with Oracle and its related technologies.

When asked about the mix of experience, Spendolini replied, "Aside from our common Oracle APEX knowledge, we each bring something different to the table. John has in-depth systems and hosting knowledge, Dimitri is an unparalleled problem solver and excellent technician, Doug has heavy consulting and performance tuning experience, and I've got a unique view of APEX from the inside having previously been the Oracle APEX Product Manager while at Oracle. It's an exceptional mix of skills thats not found anywhere else in the industry."

Initial partnership discussions began while the four were attending Oracle Open World in 2009. "Our two companies have been traveling parallel paths for quite some time", says John Scott. "After we started talking about what we were currently doing and what our plans were individually, it just made sense for us to talk about joining forces."

The formation of SUMNEVA was finalized in early January, 2010 and the individual companies started working under the new moniker on January 27th, 2010. Current customers will not see any immediate difference, but should soon notice expanded training and service offerings. “With twice the manpower as before, we are in a great position to assist more customers over more time zones.” added Spendolini.

A main focus area for SUMNEVA will be APEX training. “One of our first tasks is to consolidate our training efforts”, sited Dimitri Gielis. “AE has been focused on providing high impact advanced seminars while Sumner has a developed a suite of formal introductory and intermediate courses. When put together, our curriculum will cover the entire spectrum of training needs”. SUMNEVA expects to publish their public training schedules in the US and Europe early in Q1 2010. “We expect to be able to deliver training on Oracle APEX 4.0 as soon as it is released later this year.” added Gielis.

“High end consulting will also be a heavy focus area for us”, says Doug Gault. “We’re realigning our consulting efforts to provide help where people need it most. Our goal is to help people solve their toughest problems in the shortest amount of time and leave them with the knowledge they need to advance and continue.”
